The Satu Mare County Intercommunity Development Association partner in 2 projects financed by the Danube Region Program 2021-2027

The Satu Mare County Intercommunity Development Association is partner in two projects financed by the Program for the Danube Region 2021-2027. Both projects implementation starts from 1st of January 1, 2024 and have an implementation duration of 30 months.

The first project is “RURALL – Livable rural communities of the future – A new integrated model of governance to address the depopulation of rural areas” and has as its main objective the development of a model of governance to address the depopulation of rural areas by improving the processes of planning, management, decision-making and collaboration within rural communities to exploit the potential of abandoned/unused buildings. The project includes a number of 14 partners from 11 countries, and the associated strategic partner of Satu Mare County Intercommunity Development Association within this project is the Commune of Hodod. As part of the project, possible models for the rehabilitation of the unused buildings in the Hodod commune will be developed, in order to prevent the depopulation of the area. The project has a total value of 2.597.692,50 EUR, and the budget allocated to the Association within this project is 159.700 EUR

The second project is “SPONGECITY- Improving the capacity of cities to adapt to climate change by testing and promoting the “sponge city” methodology at the transnational level”, with the main objective of analyzing the hydroclimatic characteristics and water management practices in 12 communities, creating a model for supporting the planning of urban water management measures, testing and promoting tools through the participatory development of local action plans, feasibility studies and small investments. The SPONGECITY project includes a number of 13 partners, and the associated strategic partner of Satu Mare County Intercommunity Development Association within this project is the town of Livada. As part of the project, landscaping works will be developed in one of the public parks in Livada City and a meteorological station will be installed. The project has a total value of 2.028.509,20 EUR, and the budget allocated to the Association within this project is 164.500 EUR.
