The Monitoring Committee of the Interreg VI-A NEXT Hungary-Slovakia-Romania-Ukraine Programme has approved the list of 43 projects that will be funded in the upcoming period. Satu Mare County Intercommunity Development Association is the lead partner in 3 of the projects selected for funding and a partner in one of the projects selected for funding.
The 3 projects in which Satu Mare County Intercommunity Development Association is the lead partner and which have been selected for funding are:
- Equal access to dental care in the cross-border region – acronym 4YOURSMILE, whose main objective is to ensure equal access to oral health for children in the cross-border region through investments in oral health facilities, oral health promotion activities, and skill development for professionals in the field. The Association’s partners in this project are: Zakarpattia Regional Development Agency (UA), Nagykálló City Hall (HU), Ardud City Hall and Livada City Hall (RO). Project activities include the establishment of two school dental clinics (in Ardud and Livada), oral health promotion activities in Satu Mare County, and experience exchanges for professionals in the field.
- Cross-border cooperation for energy efficiency through the use of renewable energy sources – acronym SMART ENERGY, which has as its main objective the strengthening of cooperation in the cross-border region in the field of energy efficiency and renewable energy through joint activities that increase knowledge, raise awareness, and contribute to increased use of renewable energy. The Association’s partners in this project are the Zakarpattia Regional Development Agency (UA) and Ujfehértó City Hall (HU). Project activities include the installation of a photovoltaic panel system at Satu Mare County Emergency Hospital, a public campaign on renewable energy, and experience exchanges.
- Towards an inclusive intercultural education system in the cross-border area – acronym INCLUSIV.EDU, which has as its main objective the promotion of inclusive intercultural education in the cross-border area through joint institutional cooperation. The Association’s partners in this project are: the “Edelweiss” Charity Organization from Zakarpattia Region (UA) and the Beregi Local Governments Association (HU). Project activities include the organization of activities to promote inclusive intercultural education in 6 schools in Satu Mare County (camps for students, workshops for teachers, experience exchanges).
Additionally, Satu Mare County Intercommunity Development Association is a partner in the project Cooperation of local communities in the HU-RO-UA border region for joint planning, capacity development, and partnerships – acronym PLANNING4YOU, which has as its main objective the preparation of cross-border territorial development plans and the assessment of the HUROUA border region. The lead partner of this project is the Research Institute for National Strategy (HU), and project activities include: updating the development strategies of 3 communes in Satu Mare County, updating Satu Mare County’s strategy for promoting cultural heritage, and training courses for employees of local administrative units in Satu Mare County.
