The Satu Mare County Intercommunity Development Association signed the funding contract for the CULT.ROUTE – Thematic Route of Castles 2 project

The President of the Satu Mare County Intercommunity Development Association, Mr. Pataki Csaba, signed the funding contract for the Thematic Route of Castles 2 project – acronym CULT.ROUTE. The partners of the Satu Mare County Intercommunity Development Association in implementing the project are: the Town Hall of Livada, the Department for Investments, Projects, International Relations, and Promotion of the City Council of Ivano-Frankivsk (UA), and the Town Hall of Fehérgyarmat (HU).

The main objective of the project is to strengthen cultural cooperation by extending the thematic route of castles that promotes the shared cultural heritage in the cross-border area. The current project continues the Thematic Route of Castles project implemented by the Satu Mare County Intercommunity Development Association from June 2021 to November 2023.

The main activities of the CULT.ROUTE project include: the rehabilitation of the Vécsey Castle park (56,000 sqm) in Livada, the rehabilitation of the roof of the Tapay Mansion in Fehérgyarmat, equipping certain castles and mansions with IT equipment, creating a website to promote castles and mansions in the cross-border area, organizing cultural festivals, and conducting experience exchanges.

The total budget of the project is EUR 758,832.10, of which EUR 682,948.89 represents the European Union’s contribution through the Interreg VI-A Next Hungary–Slovakia–Romania–Ukraine program. The project has an implementation period of 24 months starting on February 3, 2025.
