The Satu Mare County Intercommunity Development Association, as a partner, starts the implementation of the “ProfiSchoolUp: High-quality education – better life: improving the quality of vocational education in the Romania-Ukraine cross-border area” project (project code: ROUA00639) funded by the Interreg NEXT Romania-Ukraine Program 2021-2027. The project is implemented in partnership by the Center for Municipal and Regional Development – NGO Resource Center (Ukraine), as the leader, together with the Executive Committee of Ivano-Frankivsk Local Council (Ukraine), the Satu Mare County Intercommunity Development Association and Sighetu Marmației Municipality (Romania). The project benefits from a total budget of EUR 438,244.28, of which EUR 394,419.85 represents non-reimbursable funding provided by the European Union through the European Neighbourhood Instrument (ENI).
The project aims to contribute to improving the quality of education, to develop students’ skills and competences for the labour market and further education by improving the professional educational capacity in the Ivano-Frankivsk, Satu Mare and Sighetu Marmației regions. The improvement of the educational capacity will be ensured by modernising the educational infrastructure in 6 selected vocational schools and by increasing the quality of educational services by developing/updating educational programmes.
The Satu Mare County Intercommunity Development Association manages a budget of EUR 139,450.48 within the project. The largest part of the budget is allocated to the creation of a workshop for photovoltaic panel installers at the “Simion Bărnuțiu” Technological High School in Carei and a carpentry workshop at the Tășnad Technological High School. The project also provides for the organization of experience exchanges: 2 cross-border workshops, a cross-border event dedicated to a number of 48 students and interactive online sessions.
