Solar panels at the County Emergency Hospital

The photovoltaic panel system purchased by the Satu Mare County Intercommunity Development Association as part of the SMART ENERGY project financed by the Interreg VI-A NEXT Hungary-Slovakia-Romania-Ukraine Program is currently being installed at the Satu Mare County Emergency Hospital. The photovoltaic system will have an installed power of 159.82 kWp and is made up of 262 photovoltaic panels and three inverters with a total power of 120 kW AC. The investment will increase the use of renewable resources, generating significant savings in electricity costs.

The SMART ENERGY project – Cross-border cooperation for energy efficiency through the use of renewable energy sources is implemented by the Satu Mare County Intercommunity Development Association, as lead partner, together with the Transcarpathia Regional Development Agency (Ukraine) and the Municipality of Újfehértó (Hungary). The main objective of the project is to strengthen cross-border cooperation in the field of energy efficiency and renewable energy by implementing joint activities that contribute to increasing the level of knowledge, raising public awareness and expanding the use of renewable energy sources.

The total value of the project is 625,471.86 euros, of which 562,924.67 euros represent funding provided by the European Union through the Interreg VI-A NEXT Hungary-Slovakia-Romania-Ukraine Programme. The project is implemented between February 15, 2025 and December 31, 2026.
