
✨A study visit took place in Uzhgorod (Ukraine) on March 18-20 as part of the extensive teacher training program within the STEMLab Synergy project. The study visit was attended by 5 trainers from Satu Mare County from the “Dariu Pop” Satu Mare Teaching Staff House (associated partner in the project), the Satu Mare County School Inspectorate, the “Mihai Viteazul” Gymnasium School from Moftin (beneficiary in the project), as well as the project team of the Satu Mare County Intercommunity Development Association. The event program included visits to STEM laboratories at three high schools in Uzhgorod, three faculties of the Uzhgorod National University, and the Children’s Palace in Zakarpattya. Practical demonstrations on the use of STEM laboratories in lower secondary, upper secondary and university education were held, and the benefits of using modern technologies in STEM education were discussed.
📍 STEMLab Synergy: Shaping Future Skills in Romanian and Ukrainian Schools is implemented with the financial support of the European Union through the Interreg VI-A NEXT Romania–Ukraine 2021–2027 Programme. The Intercommunity Development Association Satu Mare County is a partner in this project, alongside the Association of Project Managers “YADRO” (lead) and the Uzhhorod National University (Ukraine). The general objective of the project is to improve the quality and relevance of STEM education (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) in secondary schools from Satu Mare County (RO) and the Transcarpathian Region (UA), reduce the gap between education and the labour market, and strengthen cross-border cooperation in education.Within the project, 3 STEM laboratories will be equipped at the following schools in Satu Mare County:Bârsău de Sus Secondary School,“Mihai Viteazu” Secondary School, Moftinu Mic, “George Barițiu” Technological High School, Livada. The project has a total budget of 444,405.86 EUR and a duration of 18 months, starting in May 2025.
