STEM FAIR – MAY 15, 2026, SATU MARE

On 15 May 2026, students, parents and teachers are invited to participate in the STEM Fair, organised by the Satu Mare County Intercommunity Development Association in partnership with the Satu Mare County School Inspectorate, the Satu Mare County Centre for Educational Resources and Assistance and the “Dariu Pop” Teacher Training House of Satu Mare, within the project STEMLab Synergy: developing the skills of the future in schools from Romania and Ukraine. The STEM Fair will take place in the Corneliu Coposu Passage in Satu Mare between 10:00 and 15:30, as part of the annual Education Fair.

The STEM Fair will bring students a wide range of interactive activities dedicated to science, technology, engineering, and mathematics in an accessible, modern, and engaging format. Participants will be able to enjoy demonstrations, experiments, scientific phenomena, projects and products created by students, as well as small competitions and hands-on activities that transform learning into a dynamic and exciting experience.

The event is addressed both to students aged 12 to 17 and to teachers and parents interested in modern educational methods and the development of future skills. At the same time, eighth-grade students will have the opportunity to discover the educational offer of high schools from Satu Mare County for the 2026–2027 school year.

By organising the STEM Fair, the Satu Mare County Intercommunity Development Association aims to contribute to the promotion of STEM education and to bring young people closer to fields that are essential for the future, in a context where technology and digital skills are becoming increasingly important.

📍 The project STEMLab Synergy: Developing Future Skills in Schools from Romania and Ukraine is implemented with the financial support of the European Union through the Interreg VI-A NEXT Romania–Ukraine 2021–2027 Programme. The Satu Mare County Intercommunity Development Association is a partner in the project alongside the “YADRO” Project Managers Association (lead partner), Uzhhorod National University from Ukraine, and the “Dariu Pop” Teachers’ Training Centre of Satu Mare (associated partner). The general objective of the project is to improve the quality and relevance of STEM education (science, technology, engineering, mathematics) in secondary schools from Satu Mare County (RO) and the Transcarpathia region (UA), reduce the gap between education and the labour market, and strengthen cross-border cooperation in education. The project includes the establishment of three STEM laboratories in the following educational institutions from Satu Mare County: Bârsău de Sus Secondary School, “Mihai Viteazul” Secondary School in Moftinu, and “George Barițiu” Technological High School in Livada. The project has a total budget of EUR 444,405.86 and an implementation period of 18 months starting from May 2025.
