Cultural activities organized in Ivano-Frankivsk within the CULT.ROUTE – Castle Thematic Route 2 project

Representatives of the Satu Mare County Intercommunity Development Association and the City of Livada participated, between 7–8 May 2026, in a series of cultural activities organized in Ivano-Frankivsk (Ukraine) within the CULT.ROUTE – Castle Thematic Route 2 project. The Ukrainian partner, the Department for Investments, Projects, International Relations and Promotion of the Ivano-Frankivsk City Council, organized a thematic guided tour led by actors, from the Potocki Palace to the underground chambers of the City Hall, offering participants a unique and engaging experience while highlighting the historical importance of these architectural monuments in the foundation and development of the city. The guided tour lasted approximately 4 hours, during which participants were introduced to the stories and legends of Ivano-Frankivsk’s landmarks. The tour script was developed within the project and will be used in the future by local guides.

The main objective of the CULT.ROUTE project is to strengthen cultural cooperation by expanding the thematic route of castles that promotes the shared cultural heritage in the cross-border area. The current project continues the SMAR.T.OURISM project implemented by the Satu Mare County Intercommunity Development Association between June 2021 and November 2023. The main activities of the CULT.ROUTE project include: the rehabilitation of the Vécsey Castle park in Livada, the rehabilitation of the Tapay Manor roof in Fehérgyarmat, equipping several castles and manors with IT equipment, creating a website for promoting castles and manors in the cross-border area, and organizing cultural festivals and experience exchange events. The project partners are: the Satu Mare County Intercommunity Development Association, as lead partner, the City Hall of Livada, the Department for Investments, Projects, International Relations and Promotion of the Ivano-Frankivsk City Council (Ukraine), and the City Hall of Fehérgyarmat (Hungary).
