On 19-20 March 2023, the second transnational meeting of the partners of the GENPROCURE project – Gender inclusion in public procurement, funded by the URBACT IV Programme, took place in Umea (Sweden). The program of the meeting included presentations, debates and workshops on gender equality, the public procurement system in Umea, the integrated approach, public procurement strategies and project management issues. The Satu Mare County Intercommunity Development Association was represented at the meeting by Ms. Mihaela Bura – Procurement Director at Satu Mare County Council, Ms. Cădar Marinela – Legal Advisor at Satu Mare County Emergency Hospital and Ms. Nicoleta Lașan – Executive Director of the Association and local project coordinator.
The main objective of the GenProcure project is to explore the ways in which public procurement can contribute to reducing gender inequalities. The project has an implementation duration of 30 months and will be completed by drawing up a Local Action Plan in the field of public procurement. The Satu Mare County Intercommunity Development Association is one of the 9 partners of the project, along with the following public authorities: Vila Nova de Famalicao – Portugal as a leading partner with a coordinating role, Zagreb – Croatia, Koszalin – Poland, Messina – Italy, Ibrány – Hungary, Alcoy – Spain, Umea – Sweden, Department for Development and International Projects of the Canton of Zenica-Doboj – Bosnia and Herzegovina. The project is financed by the URBACT IV Program and has a total value of 847,160 Euros, of which 669,873.75 Euros is co-financing by the European Union.
