The Satu Mare County Intercommunity Development Association has signed the financing contract for the SMART ENERGY project – Cross-border cooperation for energy efficiency through the use of renewable energy sources

The President of the Satu Mare County Intercommunity Development Association, Mr. Csaba Pataki, signed the financing contract for the project titled Cross-border cooperation for energy efficiency through the use of renewable energy sources – acronym SMART ENERGY. The project will be implemented by the Satu Mare County Intercommunity Development Association as the Lead Partner, in collaboration with the Zakarpattia Regional Development Agency (UA) and the Municipality of Újfehértó (HU).

The main objective of the project is to strengthen cross-border cooperation in the field of energy efficiency and renewable energy through joint activities that increase knowledge, raise awareness, and contribute to the enhanced use of renewable energy. The project activities include the installation of a photovoltaic system at the Satu Mare County Emergency Hospital, a public campaign on renewable energy, and experience exchanges.

The total budget of the project is EUR 625,471.86, of which EUR 562,924.67 is funded by the European Union through the Interreg VI-A Next Hungary-Slovakia-Romania-Ukraine Programme. The implementation period of the project is 18 months, starting from February 15, 2025.
