Diversity and Integration Camps in Satu Mare

120 students from Satu Mare County participated, between August 29 and September 14, 2025, in the “Diversity and Integration Camp”, organized by the Satu Mare County Intercommunity Development Association within the INCLUSIV.EDU – Towards an inclusive intercultural education system in the cross-border area project, funded by the Interreg VI-A Next Hungary–Slovakia–Romania–Ukraine Programme.

The camp was held in three series, during the periods 29–31 August, 5–7 September and 12–14 September, each series bringing together 40 students and 8 teachers from the six partner schools of the project: “Csury Balint” Agriș Secondary School, “Gellert Sandor” Micula Secondary School, “Vasile Lucaciu” Apa Secondary School, Poiana Codrului Secondary School, “Fenyi Istvan” Căpleni Secondary School and Terebești Secondary School.

The activities were coordinated by a trainer with experience in intercultural education and inclusion, and the camp program included masterclasses, role-playing games, recreational and sports activities, all with the theme of inclusion and multicultural diversity.

The INCLUSIV.EDU – Towards an inclusive intercultural education system in the cross-border area project is implemented by the Satu Mare County Intercommunity Development Association, as lead partner, in partnership with the Multisectoral Intercommunity Association of the Bereg Microregion (Hungary) and the “Edelweiss” Charity Association (Ukraine). The main objective of the project is to promote inclusive intercultural education in the cross-border area through joint institutional cooperation. The project’s activities focus on promoting inclusive intercultural education in six schools in Satu Mare County through student camps, teacher workshops, and experience exchanges.

The total budget of the project is EUR 299,944.26, of which EUR 269,949.83 is funded by the European Union through the Interreg VI-A Next Hungary–Slovakia–Romania–Ukraine Programme. The implementation period of the project is 12 months, starting from January 20, 2025.
