
Between 30 September – 2 October 2025, the fourth transnational meeting of the partners within the project “RURALL – Livable Rural Communities of the Future – A New Integrated Governance Model to Address Rural Depopulation” took place in Prijedor (Bosnia and Herzegovina).
The meeting program included presentations, workshops and field visits on community involvement, basic concepts and detailed projects for the rehabilitation of unused buildings, business model development, as well as practical examples of rural space revitalization.
The Satu Mare County Intercommunity Development Association was represented at this meeting by Mr. Francisc Balog – Mayor of Hodod Commune (associated partner in the project), Mrs. Noémi Andrea Gyüre Rotariuc – Chief Architect of Satu Mare County (project expert), Mrs. Nicoleta Lașan – Executive Director of the Association and local project coordinator, and Mr. Marton Szilagyi – project communication officer.
The RurALL project is financed through the Danube Region Programme 2021-2027 and has as its main objective the development of a governance model to address rural depopulation by improving planning, management, decision-making and collaboration processes within rural communities, in order to exploit the potential of abandoned/unused buildings. The project involves 14 partners from 11 countries, and the strategic associated partner of the Satu Mare County Intercommunity Development Association in this project is Hodod Commune. Within the project, possible models for the rehabilitation of unused buildings in Hodod Commune will be developed, with the aim of preventing depopulation of the area. The total value of the project is EUR 2,597,692.50, while the budget allocated to the Association within this project is EUR 159,700.
