
On 26-27 March 2026, an exchange of experience organized within the DECRISIS project – Development of Children’s Rehabilitation Institutions (ROHU00350), a cross-border initiative funded by the Interreg VI-A Romania–Hungary Programme, aimed at improving access to rehabilitation and mental health services for children with special educational needs in the counties of Satu Mare (Romania) and Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg (Hungary), took place in Nyíregyháza.
The event, hosted by the Bárczi Gusztáv School and the Nyíregyháza District Educational Centre, was attended by 40 specialists in the field of education and health, therapists, psychologists, teachers from the Satu Mare School Centre for Inclusive Education (partner in the project) and 16 schools from Satu Mare County.
The exchange program included a presentation and tour of the host school, cultural programs organized by students from Nyiregyhaza, team building sessions, practical classroom activities with children, presentation of teaching methods and professional discussions in order to strengthen the educational and therapeutic services offered to children with special educational needs.
The DECRISIS project is implemented by the Satu Mare County Intercommunity Development Association in partnership with the Special Education Centre of Satu Mare and the Educational Centre of the Nyíregyháza District in Hungary, with the Satu Mare County School Inspectorate as associated partner. The project has a total budget of 477,999.90 EUR, of which 382,399.91 EUR is funded by the European Union through the Interreg VI-A Romania–Hungary Programme, , and the implementation period is 24 months.
