BRIDGE2EASTCE PROJECT OPENING CONFERENCE

The Satu Mare County Intercommunity Development Association participated, as a partner, in the opening conference of the Bridge2EastCE project – Interregional Development of Border Regions through a Strengthened Governance Framework at the Eastern Periphery of Central Europe. The conference was organized by the National Strategy Research Institute in Budapest, the lead partner of the project. The conference program included presentations by the partners, an overview of the project and its activities, as well as thematic presentations on territorial planning and the effects of the Russia–Ukraine war. Additionally, the partnership agreement was officially signed by the 11 project members – 8 full partners and 3 associate partners.

The main objective of the “Bridge2EastCE” project is to analyze the impact of the Russia–Ukraine war on the European Union’s peripheral regions along the border with Ukraine, as well as to promote cooperation and coordinated development planning in these areas. To this end, the project aims to create an interregional framework involving four countries – Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, and Romania – to strengthen the “bridge” role of border areas and capitalize on the opportunities generated by this position.

The “Bridge2EastCE” project is implemented from February 2026 to January 2028. The total project budget is €772,639.00, of which €618,111.20 represents the European Union contribution through the Interreg Central Europe Program, financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).
